Why is exercise important?
To live a better, longer, healthier, and more successful life, both our mind and body need to work well. For that, we must build habits that make them stronger — and one of the best habits is exercise. Exercise strengthens our body, improves mental toughness, and increases discipline. Without exercise, our body becomes less active during the day, our belly starts coming out, body weight and fat increase, and we begin to feel lazy and tired.
Regular exercise shapes the body, burns unnecessary fat, and reduces laziness. It also improves stamina, endurance, and strength — making activities like running, jumping, lifting, swimming, and sports much easier. When you push yourself to continue even after your mind says “I’m tired,” you develop real mental toughness. Exercising daily also helps build discipline, which benefits every area of life.
Many adults today struggle with big bellies, joint pain, or excess weight due to lack of exercise. Even many kids face similar problems. People are often unaware of how harmful inactivity is and how powerful regular exercise can be. Exercise is not just about fitness — it’s about building a strong body, a sharp mind, and a better life.
How can exercise transform your life?Think about life without exercise — you don’t move your body, you sit most of the day, and slowly you start feeling tired, slow, and lazy. Over time, this lifestyle builds unnecessary fat, weak muscles, and stiffness. Joint pain in the knees, back, neck, and shoulders becomes common even at a young age. Many people reach old age depending on a walking stick not because of age alone, but because their body was never trained to stay strong. Now imagine a different life — a life where you exercise regularly and move your body with purpose. You wake up with energy, feel lighter, stronger, and more confident. Your body becomes lean, athletic, and functional, or muscular and powerful depending on your goals. Your posture improves, your joints remain healthy, and you move with ease even at 50, 60, or 70 years old. Exercise also affects the mind — it reduces stress, anxiety, depression, and increases happiness and mental clarity. You think sharper, learn faster, and feel more alive. In sports and daily activities, fitness becomes your biggest advantage. A fit person performs better, recovers faster, and enjoys life more. Exercise doesn’t just change your body — it transforms your life.
Which exercises you should do?There are many types of exercises, and not all of them are useful for everyone. You should choose exercises based on your specific goal, whether it’s weight loss, muscle building, strength, or endurance. After selecting the right exercises, you must also perform them according to your goal. For example, if your goal is fat loss, then you should perform more repetitions with less rest. If your goal is strength or muscle building, then you should add weight or perform the movements slowly with controlled tempo. For endurance, choose exercises that challenge your stamina and make you feel tired.
Rest time between exercises also depends on your goal. For strength and muscle building, take a 30-second to 1-minute break after each set. For endurance or fat loss, shorter rest periods of less than 30 seconds are better.
You should also follow basic rules: avoid eating or bathing 30 minutes before and after exercise. You can train in the morning or evening depending on your schedule. Make sure to take one rest day per week, where you can do light stretching or yoga. Yoga is important because it improves flexibility and helps with recovery.
How I do my exercises?I start my routine every day with a few minutes of yoga to open up my body and prepare myself mentally and physically for the workout. After that, I move into dynamic stretching to activate my muscles and improve mobility. Then I begin my main workout according to the day—sometimes it’s leg day, sometimes core, or other focused sessions. I choose specific exercises that help me build strength and muscle, which is my main fitness goal. Once I finish my workout, I do relaxing yoga to cool down and bring my body back to a calm state. I also take one rest day every week, where I only do light yoga to help my body recover.
Depending on my schedule, I shift my exercises to the morning or evening. If I am sick, busy, or have to travel, I adjust my routine instead of forcing myself. I never torture my body or become toxic with myself. I learn exercises from successful people like sportsmen and martial artists, and I also watch YouTube videos or read books to improve my technique. When any exercise becomes easy, I add weight or do slow reps to increase difficulty. Overall, exercise makes me happy, energetic, and confident.
In the end, exercise is not just a routine—it is a lifestyle that protects our body, sharpens our mind, and strengthens our character. Today many people, including children, are forgetting its value and facing unnecessary fat, stress, and pain.
